Now, days the trend is to eat healthy snacks and eat better every day. Not all the people know how to choose the best or the healthiest snacks in the market. A huge percentage of the healthy eating communities are completely wrong on what to eat. Here I will introduce you 3 important tips about choosing the right healthy snacks for you.

1.       Gluten free facts: While everyone now days is asking and consuming gluten free products just because they think is super healthy and their diet will improve by consuming this gluten free snacks or foods then they are completely wrong.

Consuming snacks, bread, deserts and any other type of food is not as nutritious as non gluten free food or ‘regular food’  and that’s because some of the most common ingredients are rice, corn, potatoes, and others ingredients, and this type of ingredients ends up making this gluten free products higher in carbohydrates and lower on protein. Also, most of those gluten free snacks and products that you can buy in the stores are packed with preservatives and chemicals that are not good for you at all!

There are some people that 100% can't eat gluten and is just because they are allergic to gluten and that’s when the trend started growing. Just to let you know that only 1% of the population is allergic of gluten or 1 out of 133 Americans are allergic to gluten but the percentage of the people who avoids gluten just because they think its healthier is way bigger! 1 out of 5 people includes gluten free products in their diet and for me that’s just insane! That means that the trend is way bigger than the people that 100% can't eat gluten because they are allergic.

2.       Avoid low fat products: Here is the thing… there is a bunch of products in the market with a label saying ‘low fat’ and people will automatically think is less fat and that is better for them, but there is a catch on it. When they make these low-fat products they have to add some stuff that actually adds MORE fat. To make these low-fat foods you have to increase the sugars, salts and additives to make the food taste better. And this type of products usually overweight people buys them and they have no clue that they are actually overeating.

3.       Read the Ingredients :  Did you know how important is to read all the ingredients in the food you are consuming nowadays? Well, just to let you know it is VERY IMPORTANT.

There are some important things that you have to understand before buying any type of food or snacks in the market.

The order of the ingredients listed on the package lets us know wich ingredients is used more on that recipe of the product, by that I mean that all these ingredients are listed by weight and with that information we can tell how healthy it is just because of this few tips.

-          If you are buying a cracker and the ingredients are these for example:

Flour, almonds, honey, sugar, peanut butter, water and salt : Here we can tell that the cracker has more flower than almonds more honey than sugar and more sugar than peanut butter but if  you combine the honey and the sugar the total sugar in this cracker is even more than the almonds it has on it.  If they are trying  to let people know that this.
